We've been repairing pool equipment across Plano for over two decades. Plano exploded from a farming town of 3,695 in 1960 to over 285,000 today — and most of that growth happened in massive waves during the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. That means a huge number of Plano pools are now 25 to 45 years old, and the equipment on those pads has been through at least one or two full replacement cycles. We know what's out there because we've been working on it for years.
Neighborhoods: Willow Bend · Willow Bend Estates · Pebble Brook at Willow Bend · Kings Court of Willow Bend · Gleneagles · Cliffs of Gleneagles · Lakeside on Preston · White Rock Creek Estates · Shoal Creek
Willow Bend is Plano's premier luxury corridor — homes built from the mid-1980s through early 2000s on generous lots along White Rock Creek, many centered around Gleneagles Country Club. These are some of the largest and most complex pool setups in the city: resort-style pools with dedicated spas, water features, gas heaters, and full automation systems. Equipment ranges from legacy Jandy AquaLink and Pentair EasyTouch setups to current-generation IntelliCenter systems. The older Gleneagles homes have pools pushing 35–40 years old where we commonly replace corroded heat exchangers, rebuild aging plumbing manifolds, and upgrade outdated relay-based automation. White Rock Creek Estates and Lakeside on Preston feature custom homes with pools in the $1M+ range running complex multi-circuit equipment pads that require experienced diagnostics.
Neighborhoods: Hills at Prestonwood · Village at Prestonwood · Indian Creek · Preston Hollow · Deerfield · Preston Lakes · Preston Meadow · Normandy Estates · Highlands of Plano Preston Ridge
The Prestonwood neighborhoods date to the 1980s and 1990s, built during Plano's biggest corporate relocation boom when J.C. Penney, Frito-Lay, and others moved their headquarters to town. Pools here are 25 to 40 years old — squarely in the range where original equipment has long since been replaced but the second round of equipment is now failing too. We regularly see mismatched systems where a Hayward pump was paired with a Pentair heater and Jandy valves by different contractors over the years. Indian Creek wraps around Prestonwood Country Club and features some of Plano's most established luxury pools with dedicated spa equipment, gas heating, and older automation that's due for a full panel upgrade. Preston Lakes and Normandy Estates have larger executive homes where variable-speed pump conversions and salt system retrofits are the most common calls.
Neighborhoods: Hunters Glen · Hunters Ridge · Hunters Landing · Whiffletree · Chase Oaks · Stoney Hollow · Forest Creek · Midway Park · Spring Ridge · Briar Meadow
This is the heart of 1980s Plano — the neighborhoods that went up fastest during the population explosion from 72,000 to 128,000 in a single decade. Pools here are predominantly 35 to 45 years old, and this is where we do some of our highest volume of equipment replacement work in all of DFW. Original single-speed Hayward Super Pumps and Sta-Rite Dura-Glas pumps that somehow ran for 20+ years are finally giving out. We replace aging DE and cartridge filters, swap out Raypak and Teledyne Laars heaters with cracked heat exchangers, and upgrade old timeclock panels to modern Pentair or Hayward automation. Whiffletree spans from the 1980s through newer sections, so equipment age varies block by block. Spring Ridge homes from the 1990s are hitting their first major equipment cycle — variable-speed pump upgrades and salt system installations are the most common projects.
Neighborhoods: Kings Ridge · Kings Gate · Legacy Hills · Legacy Park Estates · Legacy Town Center · Ridgeview Ranch · Ridgeview Park · Crystal Creek · Timber Brook Estates
North Plano developed later than the rest of the city, with most homes built from the late 1990s through the 2010s as the Legacy business corridor took shape. Kings Ridge is a luxury community with homes reaching over $1 million — pools here feature high-end Pentair IntelliCenter and Jandy iAquaLink automation, variable-speed pumps, and dedicated spa circuits with gas heating. The oldest Kings Ridge pools are now 20+ years old and hitting their first major equipment replacement cycle. Ridgeview Ranch is a master-planned community built after 2000 with builder-grade equipment that's now showing its age — common calls include salt cell replacements at the 5–7 year mark, single-speed to variable-speed pump conversions, and automation reprogramming. Timber Brook Estates offers some of Plano's newest construction with current-generation equipment mostly needing warranty support and programming.
Neighborhoods: Old Shepard Place · Kingsborough · Pitman Creek Estates · Plano Park · Plano East · Parkway Estates · Parkway Heights · Oak Point Estates · Bob Woodruff Park area
East Plano is where the city's growth started — these are the oldest residential neighborhoods in town, with homes dating from the 1970s and early 1980s when Plano first boomed from a small town to a suburb. Old Shepard Place features traditional homes under mature trees with pools that are often 40 to 50 years old — some of the oldest residential pools in Plano. We've worked on equipment pads here that have been through three or four generations of pumps and heaters. Pitman Creek Estates has homes from the 1970s–1980s on quarter-acre lots where we commonly do full equipment pad overhauls: new variable-speed pump, new filter, new heater, and modern automation to replace decades-old timeclock-and-relay setups. These older neighborhoods are also where we see the most plumbing issues — original copper and PVC lines that have shifted or corroded over 40+ years.
Neighborhoods: Windhaven · Windhaven Farms · Avignon Windhaven · Country Place · Oakwood Glen · Woodlands of Plano · Glen Meadows · Fairfax Meadows · Glenhollow Estates · West Creek
Southwest Plano sits along the Dallas North Tollway corridor and developed primarily through the 1980s and 1990s as the tollway opened up the west side of the city. Windhaven features traditional brick homes with family-sized pools that are now 30 to 40 years old — solidly in the replacement zone for heaters, pumps, and filter systems. Country Place is classic 1980s Plano suburban development where we handle a steady stream of equipment replacements: aging Hayward and Pentair pumps, corroded Raypak heater cores, and DE filter grids that haven't been replaced in over a decade. Avignon Windhaven has larger executive homes with more complex setups including dedicated spa equipment, automation, and gas heating. Glenhollow Estates and the surrounding 1990s–2000s subdivisions are hitting their first major equipment cycles — variable-speed pump conversions and salt chlorinator installations are the most requested projects in this part of Plano.
Diagnosed a bad ignition control module — not the gas valve, which is what another company had quoted to replace. Saved the homeowner over $800 by fixing the actual problem instead of replacing parts that weren’t broken.
