Equipment Repairs

Colleyville Pool Equipment Repair

Colleyville pools tend to be large, custom and heavily automated, which means more equipment on the pad and more that has to talk to each other correctly.

Large lots and mature tree cover put roots near pool plumbing, and that is a common source of the slow leaks we get called out to here.

Local Pool Equipment Repair

Colleyville Neighborhoods We Serve

We've been repairing pool equipment across Colleyville and the surrounding Tarrant County area for over two decades. Colleyville built out mostly through the 1990s and early 2000s on large lots, and almost every one of those homes went in with a pool. That timing matters: a pool built in 1996 is now on its second or third round of equipment, and the ones from the early 2000s are hitting their first big replacement cycle right about now.

Ashmore, Broughton & Montclair Parc

Neighborhoods: Ashmore · Broughton of Colleyville · Montclair Parc · Tanglewood

These are Colleyville's estate neighborhoods, where the homes are custom-built on half-acre and larger lots and the pools were designed to match. Ashmore went in between 1991 and 2001 with around 90 homes, which puts those pools at 25 to 35 years old. That is well past a first equipment cycle, and it is where we do a lot of full pad work: variable-speed pump conversions, heater replacements, and salt systems going in where chlorine feeders used to be. Broughton and Montclair Parc run to the same scale, often with a raised spa and a water feature sharing the same equipment.

Creekside & Lakes of Somerset

Neighborhoods: Creekside at Colleyville · Lakes of Somerset · Whittier Heights

The gated and creek-side communities, tucked into wooded lots backing onto greenbelt and neighborhood ponds. Pretty places to own a pool and harder places to run underground plumbing. Mature trees mean roots, and roots near a suction line eventually mean a leak you cannot see from the deck. Lakes of Somerset sits along Little Bear Creek next to Sparger Park, and the ground movement you get near a creek is the kind that opens up joints between the coping and the shell.

Prestwick Park & Monticello

Neighborhoods: Prestwick Park · Monticello · Westmont

Established central Colleyville, and the part of town we are called to most often. These pools are old enough that the original equipment has been replaced at least once, usually piecemeal by whoever was available at the time. That is how you end up with a pad where the pump, the heater and the salt system were all fitted by different people in different decades and none of them quite work together. Sorting that out is a big part of what we do here.

Holt Farms, Park Hill & New Construction

Neighborhoods: Holt Farms · Park Hill

Colleyville has very little land left, so newer building is infill: small custom subdivisions dropped into existing streets. The pools here are current-generation and still under warranty, which does not mean trouble-free. Most of what we see on newer builds is automation that was never configured properly on handover, valve actuators that were not set to the right travel, and heaters that will not hold temperature because a sensor is reading wrong.

Recent Work

Recent Pool Repairs in Colleyville

Recent work in the neighborhoods we cover most.

Check Valve Repair - Prestwick Park

A check valve stops water running backwards through your equipment when the pump shuts off. There is a spring inside doing that job and you never think about it until it gives up. When it does, water drains back out of the filter overnight and the pump has to fight to prime in the morning. That is what was happening on this Prestwick Park pool. It is one of the smaller jobs that falls under pool plumbing repair, and one of the most common.

Heater Gas Line Leak - Monticello

Gas is the one part of a pool heater that nobody should be guessing at. If your heater has stopped firing, or you can smell gas anywhere near the pad, that is a stop-work-and-call-someone situation rather than a weekend project. On this Monticello job the problem was in the supply line rather than the heater itself, which is worth knowing because plenty of people replace a perfectly good heater over a fault that was never in it. Leaks are the pool heater repair we most want to catch early.

Pentair IntelliChlor Salt System - Westmont

Salt cells are consumable. They do not fail so much as wear out, and the plates inside gradually stop producing until the panel starts asking for salt the water does not actually need. This Westmont pool runs a Pentair IntelliChlor. If yours is three to five years old and the readings have started drifting, the cell is the first thing to check rather than the last. Cells wear out on a fairly predictable schedule, which is worth knowing if you run a salt water pool system.
