We've been repairing pool equipment across McKinney for over two decades. McKinney went from about 21,000 people in 1990 to over 200,000 today, and more than 70% of the homes here were built after 2000. That means the oldest pools in town are just now hitting the age where major equipment failures start stacking up — and the newest ones are already dealing with builder-grade shortcomings. We know what's on these equipment pads because we've been working on them for years.
Neighborhoods: Stonebridge Ranch · Briar Ridge · Meadow Ridge · Hills Creek · Wellington Point · Isleworth · Grand Traditions · Kensington · Gallery at Stonebridge · Tanglewood at Stonebridge · Adriatica Village
Stonebridge Ranch is the largest master-planned community in McKinney — over 5,000 acres with 70-plus villages. The first five villages broke ground in 1988, which means the oldest pools here are pushing 35 years and have been through at least one full equipment replacement. We see everything from legacy Jandy and Hayward setups in the original Briar Ridge and Meadow Ridge homes to high-end Pentair IntelliCenter automation in Isleworth's resort-style pools. The villages closer to the country club tend to have dedicated spa equipment, gas heaters, and complex plumbing that requires someone who knows their way around multi-circuit systems.
Neighborhoods: Eldorado Estates · Eldorado Country Club · Eldorado Heights · Eldorado Crossing · Eldorado Lakes · Meadow Glen at Eldorado · Village of Eldorado · Greens of McKinney · Fairway Vista at Eldorado
Eldorado is McKinney's most established luxury area, built between 1982 and 1999 around the Eldorado Country Club. Pools here are 25 to 40+ years old — some of the oldest in the city — and the equipment has been upgraded piecemeal over the decades. We regularly work on systems where the heater is from one era, the pump from another, and the automation was added years later. Eldorado Heights and the surrounding subdivisions from the late 1990s are now hitting the stage where original Pentair and Hayward equipment is reaching end of life. The Greens of McKinney sits on a former golf course that closed in the mid-2010s, but the pools in that neighborhood are still running mid-2000s equipment that needs attention.
Neighborhoods: Craig Ranch · Fairways at Craig Ranch · Hemingway at Craig Ranch · Estates at Craig Ranch · Tour at Craig Ranch · Creekview Estates · Creekview Landing
Craig Ranch was built entirely in the 21st century — an award-winning 2,200-acre master-planned community anchored by TPC Craig Ranch, home of the AT&T Byron Nelson. Pools here are 10 to 20 years old, and the oldest ones are now at the point where original builder-grade equipment is failing. We see a lot of single-speed pump replacements, salt cell failures at the 5-to-7-year mark, and automation systems that need reprogramming or upgrading. The homes along the golf course tend to have more complex setups with spa spillovers, fire features, and full Pentair or Jandy automation that requires experienced diagnostics.
Neighborhoods: Westridge · Highlands at Westridge · Eagles Nest at Westridge · Fairways North at Westridge · Fairways West at Westridge · Fossil Creek at Westridge · Weston Ridge · Tucker Hill
Westridge is an expansive golf community in west McKinney with several distinct neighborhoods and a mix of home styles from the mid-2000s through the 2010s. Pools are 10 to 20 years old and hitting their first major equipment cycle. We commonly handle variable-speed pump conversions, heater ignition failures, and salt chlorinator replacements throughout these neighborhoods. Tucker Hill is McKinney's distinctive "front porch community" with colonial-style homes — the pools here tend to be smaller but well-appointed, and the equipment is current-generation Pentair and Hayward that mostly needs programming and warranty support.
Neighborhoods: Trinity Falls · Painted Tree · Highland Lakes · Honey Creek · Erwin Farms · Wilmeth Ridge · Timber Creek
North McKinney is where the city is still actively growing, with major master-planned communities like Trinity Falls (1,900+ acres) and Painted Tree still building out new phases. Most pools here are under 10 years old with current-generation equipment — Pentair IntelliFlo variable-speed pumps, IntelliChlor salt systems, and smart automation. The most common calls we get are for builder-grade equipment that was undersized from day one, programming issues on new automation systems, salt cell troubleshooting, and heater startup problems on pools that were just finished. We also see a lot of homeowners in these newer communities looking to upgrade from basic builder packages to full automation and heating.
Neighborhoods: Historic Downtown McKinney · Virginia Hills · Virginia Woods · McKinney Ranch · Pecan Park · Live Oak Village · Heritage Bend · Vintage Place
Historic McKinney is the second-largest historic district in Texas, with homes dating back to the 1890s — though most pools in this part of town were added well after the homes were built. We work on everything from older gunite pools tucked behind Victorian and Craftsman homes near the square to standard 1990s and 2000s builds in the surrounding neighborhoods like Virginia Hills and McKinney Ranch. Equipment varies widely in this area: some older pools still have legacy Sta-Rite and Purex equipment, while others have been fully modernized. The central neighborhoods have pools ranging from 15 to 30 years old, right in the sweet spot for equipment pad overhauls and variable-speed pump upgrades.
Diagnosed a bad ignition control module — not the gas valve, which is what another company had quoted to replace. Saved the homeowner over $800 by fixing the actual problem instead of replacing parts that weren’t broken.
